ÖNORM EN 1991-1-2| Actions on structures exposed to fire
The methods given in EN 1991-1-2 are applicable to buildings, with a fire load related to the building and its occupancy.
It deals with thermal and mechanical actions on structures exposed to fire. It is intended to be used in conjunction with the fire design parts of EN 1992-1-2 to EN 1996-1-2 and EN 1999-1-2 which give rules for designing structures for fire resistance.
EN 1991-1-2 contains thermal actions related to nominal, e.g. nominal temperature-time curves, and physically based thermal actions, e.g. parametric fire models. More data and models for physically based thermal actions are given in annexes.
In addition, general principles and application rules in connection to thermal and mechanical actions to be used in conjunction with EN 1990, EN 1991-1-1, EN 1991-1-3 and EN 1991-1-4 are given.
The assessment of the damage of a structure after a fire; e.g. extent of the damage, is not covered by the present document.
